My Dorm Room, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, provides students from low-income backgrounds, including those that are first-generation-to-college, the opportunity to outfit and individualize their own college dorm room, just like their peers. My Dorm Room provides each graduating high school student access to a curated dorm registry, to select dorm essentials, such as towels, sheets, comforters and lamps.

​My Dorm Room provides dorm essentials - a necessity not covered by financial aid- for students  in Washington DC and Montgomery and Prince Georges County MD, who attend four year colleges across the country.

By alleviating the financial burden associated with purchasing dorm essentials, students begin college with less social anxiety and enjoy a smoother transition. Their selected room items help them create a comfortable “second home” in which to study and rest. My Dorm Room fulfills each student’s unique order and treats it as a celebratory event during delivery.
